Review #4: SophiasLashStudio Product Review

For those of you who are new to the world of lash extensions, choosing the right products among a sea of options is not an easy task. Today, we review SophiasLashStudio 2019 Collection! I mention the year of the products I'm reviewing because it has upgraded since I've last purchased from them; but that doesn't mean that they still don't have great things to offer &, even better, work on the cons to deliver better results! Please keep this in mind while reading further.

L Shaped Volume/Application Tweezers

These tweezers retail for $25.00CAD each & close perfectly at the tip creating an impressive grip, which is a tremendous help during fills. These babies have become my ride or die tweezers for making volume & mega volume fans. I've accidentally left these in disinfectant for over the recommended time & it's never rust or chip on me; the logo has even stayed completely in tack! I'd love to see them come out with more tweezers just as amazing!

Cash Rules Everything Around Me (C.R.E.A.M) Remover

The packaging alone of every one of their products is so fierce; I love that they aren't shy to add some personality to the brand. A pink, strawberry-scented remover is perfect for dissolving lash adhesive in just 5-10 minutes & retails at $15.00CAD for 10g of product in each. I love using cream removers because they usually come in colour like this one; I find it helps me know how close I'm placing the remover to the lash line & how much product I'm using. If you look really closely, they even incorporated some glitter, so even the removal process is always looking fabulous! Personally, after 5 minutes, the scent started to come off a little strong; I would keep this in mind for clients with a sensitive nose & to those it may irritate.

Silk Volume Lash Trays

Sophia's signature: "I would do anything for Gucci," promises easy to grab, dark finish & true to length, silk volume lash extensions. These foil-back strips carry 16 rows of 10mm-18mm in length & offer mixed or single length trays for $15.00CAD. That's an excellent price for a phenomenal product! These trays are a great option to purchase if you love designing custom sets, such as creating spikes or texture. Most sites I come across only carry up to 16mm, but I love that I didn't have to go out of my way to find longer lengths with them! These lashes helped me create beautiful, soft to touch, full sets with medium-matte shine, giving it just enough dimension. I would suggest giving the extensions a good brush before application; otherwise, I found with some trays that the lashes would slightly stick together, making it harder to create fans. I know I can always count on this product to keep its curl even after 3+ weeks of retention & perfectly mix with other brands.

Bankroll Lash Adhesive

Lash adhesives work best when suited to your environment. As a mobile lash tech, I was surprised at how well this held up in different settings. The 5ml bottles' design makes it hard to squeeze but helps keep air from getting into the bottle, resulting in long-lasting retention & keeping your adhesive as fresh as possible. The best part about this adhesive is the low-no fumes. I can use this on squirmy clients & they not once would feel burning from the glue if their eyes tend to open.
